A Contemporary Bass, From Vintage Character to High Fidelity

This EBX is based on a five-string electric bass boutique model, customized and handcrafted. The result: an instrument capable of traveling between round and organic tones, punchier sounds, and high-definition textures for modern productions. This is exactly what you expect from a bass designed to bridge two demanding worlds, where rhythmic precision is as important as expressiveness.

Articulations: Fingerstyle, Slap, and "Left Hand Mute"

To fit the codes of funk and fusion, the instrument was sampled with essential techniques: fingerstyle playing for sustain and placement, slap for impact and brightness, and especially the "left hand mute" articulation (unprecedented on EZbass). This allows for short, distinct attacks with a very musical "muted" quality, similar to an electric guitar palm mute, perfect for tight grooves, syncopated patterns, and ultra-precise rhythmic passages.

Mix-Ready Presets, Including a Semi-Synthetic Tone

The preset selection intentionally covers a wide palette: from basic and muted basses to powerful, more airy, and saturated sounds. To further expand the playground, some presets include an FM synthesizer layer, ideal for adding a "classic" synthetic bass texture without losing the organic foundation of the electric bass. Useful for transitioning from a vintage verse to a more modern chorus, or to thicken the fundamental in a dense mix.

MIDI: The Creative Momentum for Funk and Fusion

In addition to the instrument, the expansion includes a custom MIDI library designed for the playing reflexes typical of these styles: "pocket" grooves, syncopated rhythms, more technical phrasing, and everything needed to quickly build a track where the bass drives the music. It's a solid foundation for composing, sketching, or refining an arrangement while maintaining a natural and coherent sound with the available articulations.
