What EKX Cinematic Grand Is For

EKX Cinematic Grand is designed to enrich EZkeys with a prepared virtual piano oriented towards scoring and modern productions. While a classical piano provides a familiar harmonic signature, this library pushes the instrument into more narrative territory: organic textures, crafted resonances, unusual attacks, and sonic layers ready to dress a scene.

It suits soundtracks, trailers, ambient, post-production, and sound design, as well as pop/electro productions seeking a more distinctive identity. The goal is not just to play a piano but to have an emotional palette ranging from intimate muffled tones to soaring sounds, including percussive articulations and harmonic drones.

A Prepared Piano Beyond Tradition

The core of the library is based on an 1891 Bösendorfer, captured to preserve the musicality and depth of a grand piano, then transformed through preparation techniques. The result: a hybrid instrument where the fidelity of the piano meets altered harmonics and layered textures for piano timbres "never heard before" within the EZkeys context.

4 Preparation Configurations for 4 Cinematic Colors

Bowed delivers a rubbed and continuous sensation, ideal for creating organic pads and tension builds. Plucked focuses on finger attack, drier and more percussive, perfect for driving a scene or adding detail to a minimal arrangement. Damped offers a more muted and intimate color, useful for dark, restrained, or dramatic atmospheres. Conversely, Harmonic exaggerates harmonics for a more airy, spacious, and suspended sound.

Shaped Textures Ready to Blend into the Mix

All four configurations have been processed through sound-shaping effect chains, then combined to form unique sound fabrics. This provides a virtual piano capable of effortlessly blending into a modern production while maintaining a strong personality. The 34 mixing presets make it easy to choose an immediate aesthetic, from subtle texture to a very pronounced signature.
