What Big Stage EZX Is For

Big Stage EZX is a virtual drum extension designed to give your productions a stage dimension rarely achieved with traditional drum sounds. It is aimed at composers, producers, and beatmakers who want a drum kit capable of moving from powerful, punchy rock to more cinematic, airy, and "roomy" textures typical of modern pop, soul, or even more atmospheric arrangements.

Its main purpose is to offer you a palette of "neutral but immense" drum kits: playable kits within a dense mix without losing the sense of volume, while remaining versatile enough to be shaped with your usual processing (compression, saturation, reverb, EQ). The result targets both the punch of a chorus and the depth of a more intimate verse, with a natural coherence linked to the recording venue.

Recorded at the Stora Teatern (Gothenburg, Sweden), a venue built in 1859, Big Stage EZX takes advantage of an exceptional recording environment: a large stage and auditorium that provide a sense of distance, height, and air around the drums. Ambient microphones placed at several strategic points (including the balconies, ceiling, and positions at the edges and ends of the stage) allow fine adjustment of spatial perception, from the most direct to the most monumental.

Four Kits, Variants, and a Reserve of Pieces for Customization

The core of the extension is based on four complete kits deliberately contrasted, designed to cover varied aesthetics without losing the "big stage" character. Additionally, a wide selection of concert toms, additional snares, bass drums, and cymbals lets you build a custom drum kit, whether you seek a massive kick for rock/metal, a rounder snare for soul, or a more open set for ambient/pop productions.

Ready-to-Use Mixing Presets for Production

To speed up the transition from idea to final arrangement, Big Stage EZX includes a large choice of mixing presets. These serve as effective starting points to place the drums in the right register (more upfront, wider, more distant, more modern), while preserving room to fine-tune the balance between close mics and ambient mics according to your track.

Included MIDI for Composing, Orchestrating, and Dynamic Variation

The included MIDI files facilitate the creation of coherent patterns, exploration of variations (verses/choruses, breaks, transitions), and implementation of realistic dynamics. This is especially useful to leverage the room's response and the impact of the ambiances: the same part can change dimension depending on the openness of the room mics and playing intention.
