A Modern Heir to a Studio Legend

The UT FET 47 respectfully revisits the DNA of a classic while meeting today's demands for consistency and reliability. Assembled in the USA with custom parts and carefully chosen "old-stock" components, it delivers the expected musical character-full, dense, and focused-in a format ready to integrate into modern signal chains.

Who Is It For and In What Contexts?

Sound engineers, producers, and discerning creators will find the UT FET 47 both robust and inspiring. Its typical FET circuit fast response, high SPL handling, and cardioid directivity make it a reliable choice for lead vocals, kick drum, toms, bass, amps, and brass sections, with a solid low end that immediately sits well in the mix.

What Makes the Difference in Your Recordings

Heiserman HZ Series K47-Style Capsule

The 34 mm brass capsule, equipped with matched rear plates, ensures exemplary consistency from mic to mic. Its dual 24-carat gold-sputtered Mylar diaphragm (6-micron PET film) guarantees stability and definition, delivering clear vocals and instruments without harshness.

Custom Cinemag Transformer

Wound to historical specifications with a nickel/steel core and "humbucker" architecture, it provides a powerful and silent balanced output, tight lows, and a present midrange that cuts through the mix without harshness.

Selected and Discreet FET Stage

Sorted vintage FETs paired with polystyrene capacitors optimize linearity, reduce distortion, and open up dynamics. The result: very low self-noise and a wide frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, perfect for high-end preamps and converters.

Integrated Recording Tools

The -10 dB pad extends headroom up to 145 dB SPL, while the 75 Hz high-pass filter controls proximity effect and vibrations without diminishing the source's body.
