A "67" Heritage Reinvented by United
The UT Tube67 is United's tribute to the venerable German tube microphones of the 67 style that have shaped recordings since the 1960s. Rather than a simple copy, United has refined every component to reconnect with the original grain, thickness, and smoothness, while lowering noise and mastering sensitivity to modern interference.
Designed for Vocals, Music, and Room Ambience Capture
With its linear response across all polar patterns and a maximum SPL of 137 dB at 0.5% THD, the UT Tube67 excels equally in lead vocals, backing vocals, acoustic instruments, brass/woodwinds, piano, drums, and guitars. Its warm texture and "silky" highs make it a natural choice for professional studios, discerning musicians, and voice-over artists.
Key Technologies and Innovations for Contemporary Recording
UT K67 "Custom" Capsule
Inspired by a late 1970s model, the 34 mm double-diaphragm capsule is coated with 24-carat gold on 6-micron mylar in a cleanroom, then optimized for the microphone's operating voltage. The result: natural low-mids and smooth highs without the resonance often heard in modern reissues.
Shielded UT-BV12 Transformer
Wound in the USA according to measurements from an original example, the UT-BV12 uses high-nickel laminations and a copper Faraday shield. It guarantees exemplary precision in the low end and repels RFI, without compromise on size or quality.
EF86 NOS Tube and Refined Tube Stage
The NOS EF86 pentode provides a dense grain and fluid dynamics. Paired with a high-performance regulated power supply and a 7-pin Sommer interconnection, it ensures stability, silent operation, and longevity.
Switchable Air Mod
A subtle high-frequency boost to bring out vocal presence and detail while smoothing transient peaks in the highs. Activatable on demand to adapt the microphone's color to the context.

Questions frequently asked
Is the United Studio Technologies UT Tube 67 suitable for vocal recording?
Its 34 mm large-diaphragm capsule and EF86 NOS tube deliver a dense texture with smooth highs. The specified self-noise is under 11 dB, which is advantageous for singing and voice-over recording.
What polar patterns does this tube microphone offer?
Three polar patterns are available: omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure-8. The frequency response is stated to be linear from 20 Hz to 20 kHz for each pattern.
Can it record drums or brass without distortion?
The maximum SPL reaches 137 dB at 0.5% THD. A -10 dB pad is built-in for loud sound sources. The 80 Hz high-pass filter, with a -12 dB/octave slope, helps reduce unwanted low frequencies.
What is the purpose of the Air Mod mode?
The Air Mod mode applies a slight boost in the high frequencies and smooths transient peaks in this spectral region.
What accessories and connections are provided?
A shock mount is included. The microphone connects to its regulated power supply via a 7-pin Sommer cable, while the output is an XLR connector. The power supply accepts 110-120 V or 220-240 V AC via a switch.
