Apollo e1x: The Unison Extension Designed for the Apollo x16D Ecosystem and Dante Networks
Designed to extend the Apollo workflow beyond the rack, the Apollo e1x connects via Dante and allows you to place a preamp exactly where you need it: stage rack, control room, booth, console, or set. Paired with an Apollo x16D, it becomes a natural extension of the system, offering smooth remote control and seamless integration in live, broadcast, or multi-room studio setups.
A Dante Preamplifier for Live, Broadcast, and Multi-Room Studios
The Apollo e1x targets sound engineers and technicians who want to add a mic/line input precisely at critical points without running analog multicore cables. In concerts, it can supplement a stage rack or provide a spot mic input. In studios, it facilitates remote recordings (booth, tracking room, control room) while maintaining centralized control. It is also ideal for "utility" needs such as a front-of-house measurement mic or an additional input on a console.
Unison Technology, Network Control, and Field-Ready Connectivity
The Sound and Response of Iconic Preamps with Unison (with Apollo x16D)
In combination with an Apollo x16D, the e1x provides access to Unison technology: an approach designed to replicate the behavior of hardware preamps by adapting gain and impedance. The result is a more "alive" sound with character and detail, perfect for vocals, acoustic instruments, or dynamic sources in live settings.
Flexible Dante Network: Free Placement, Fast Routing, Clean Chaining
Thanks to Dante routing, you integrate the e1x into your existing infrastructure and manage audio streams directly in the Dante Controller, or via the UAD Console when the e1x is paired with an Apollo x16D. PoE reduces the number of power supplies to manage, and the coupling system allows aligning multiple units for a robust and tidy installation.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Apollo e1x compatible with the Apollo x16D?
Pairing with an Apollo x16D allows remote control and access to Unison technology. The preamp gain and impedance can then adapt to the behavior of the modeled preamps.
What audio input is available?
A microphone/line input on a combo XLR/6.35 mm jack connector is integrated. The unit offers a single channel.
Can this preamp be installed far from the control room?
Thanks to the Dante network, the preamp can be placed in a stage rack, booth, or on a set without analog multicore cable. Signal routing is done via the Dante controller. With an Apollo x16D, the UAD Console can also manage integration.
Is PoE power supply supported?
PoE is supported, which reduces the number of power supplies needed on the network.
What sample rate is supported by the Universal Audio Apollo e1x?
The supported sample rate ranges from 44.1 to 96 kHz.
