Paul Coles: Classical Guitar Album 1 for guitar | UE21675 is the first volume of Paul Coles’ "Classical Guitar Album", a collection designed for beginners taking their first steps on classical guitar. The series comprises three volumes and includes approximately 100 pieces in total, with a naturally progressive level of difficulty: enough to support students over time, without monotony and with a genuine sense of progress.
Volume 1 features musical miniatures with highly contrasting moods, ideal for developing tone, consistency and expressiveness. Paul Coles’ pieces (such as From the Shore, From the Hill, Evening Song, Nightfall and Seascape) alternate with traditional melodies that are perfect for establishing aural reference points (including Yankee Doodle, Jingle Bells, Frère Jacques and Au clair de la lune).
The collection also includes study pieces, such as the Simple Study pieces in C major, G major and D major, which are highly useful for steadying the fingers, developing independence and gradually introducing commonly used keys.
