A Vandoren Classic, at the Heart of the Clarinet Range
Vandoren has established itself as an essential brand in the clarinet world, both for reeds and mouthpieces. The B45 fits into this tradition: a model designed to suit a wide range of clarinetists, offering stable and predictable behavior while allowing room to shape your own sound. The brand offers some of its mouthpieces with different ligatures so that each musician can find the most comfortable and effective angle of support.
For Which Clarinetist and Styles?
The Vandoren B45 for Bb clarinet is aimed at both intermediate and advanced players seeking a reliable and versatile mouthpiece. Its intermediate tip opening facilitates adaptation, whether you play classical, wind orchestra, pop, or in more eclectic contexts. It is a relevant choice if you want a mouthpiece capable of evolving with your embouchure without locking you into a too marked aesthetic.
Sound and Design
With its 1.195 mm tip opening and medium-long facing, the B45 aims for a very musical compromise: easy response, balanced timbre, and good dynamic shading capability. The medium-long facing promotes a consistent response and clear articulation while maintaining a feeling of support. The ebonite, carefully shaped and polished (with the facing intentionally left raw), provides a precise sensation at the reed contact and contributes to a homogeneous projection across all registers.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
This mouthpiece is sold without ligature or mouthpiece cap : be sure to add a ligature and mouthpiece cap compatible with Bb clarinet in Vandoren/standard Bb clarinet size, as well as a case or protective pouch to secure the mouthpiece during transport.

Nozzle very difficult to fit onto the various barrels and to unpin during the first 4 or 5 uses, then later, easier.
Good workmanship, nice sound without surprise for this universal B45 (usually I will try several but this time I did not have time).Automatically translated
