The Traditional series: the Vandoren "blue box" reference
The Vandoren Traditional reeds have established themselves as a reliable choice among clarinetists. The brand, known for production consistency and expertise with cane, offers here a reed designed to provide an effective balance between ease of playing, richness of timbre, and stability.
For which musicians and styles
At strength 2, this reed is particularly suitable for musicians seeking a quick vibration response and a softer feel: tone work, rehearsals, ensembles, classical repertoire, film music, popular music, or passages requiring agility and clear articulation.
Response, sound, and consistency
The cane provides an organic vibration and a wide range of nuances. The Traditional cut promotes a homogeneous response and a sense of control over the attack, while maintaining a bright and well-centered sound when the instrument is played across its entire range.
Recommended compatible accessories
For hygiene and preservation reasons, it is advised to use a drying support and/or a reed case suitable for contrabass clarinet reeds (to avoid deformation and stabilize humidity between sessions).
- Protection against humidity fluctuations thanks to individual flow-pack packaging.
