The Giulietta VGA-3PS fits the idea of a revisited archtop: preserving the aesthetics and elegance of large jazz bodies while adding electronics truly usable in rehearsal, recording, and on stage. With its Super Capacitor preamp and hybrid bridge concept, VOX offers a more versatile archtop, more stable at high volume, and ready to switch from acoustic playing to precise amplification without complexity.

For Which Guitarist and Styles?

This VOX is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want an archtop that's easy to master live, but it remains accessible if you're looking for a first "plug and play" jazz guitar. Its cutaway and ergonomics favor playing enriched chords, comping, melodic lines, and pick playing. It is particularly comfortable in jazz, swing, blues, pop, variety, and studio contexts where the precision of the piezo makes a difference.

The Sound

The archtop luthiery combines a carved spruce top (clear attack, definition, and clarity) with a carved back and laminated mahogany sides (warm mids, tighter lows, better feedback resistance). The more compact format helps maintain control as volume rises. On the amplification side, the individual piezos in the saddles offer fast response, excellent note separation, and very direct dynamics, enhanced by the aluminum/wood hybrid bridge which broadens frequency response and supports sustain. The volume and tone controls remain discreet on the pickguard, while the active/passive selector and bass cut trim allow adjusting the bass roundness depending on the amp, PA, or recording. Finally, the removable string mute (anti-resonance system between bridge and tailpiece) helps achieve a cleaner and more "studio" signal.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

For optimal use of the electronics, plan a good quality 6.35 mm instrument jack cable. For charging the Super Capacitor preamp, an additional mini USB cable (besides the one provided) and a standard USB power supply can be handy to keep a backup solution when on the go.
