A fuzz designed to get straight to the point without sacrificing character

Fuzz is one of the most iconic effects for electric guitar: a raw sound, rich in harmonics, capable of transforming a simple riff into a wall of saturation. The Fundamental Fuzz follows this tradition with an efficiency-focused approach: a clear interface, immediate settings, and three distinct voices covering several fuzz "families." It targets musicians who want to explore textures inspired by the classics while keeping a pedal easy to integrate into any pedalboard.

For which guitarists and situations?

The Fundamental Fuzz is suitable for both beginners and experienced guitarists looking for a reliable fuzz, quick to adjust, and adaptable to multiple styles. In rock and garage, it delivers that rough, lively grain that highlights attacks. In blues-rock, it can thicken the sound while remaining expressive on playing nuances. For more indie or alternative contexts, its modes allow navigation between a wide fuzz and a tighter, better-defined fuzz in the mix.

In the studio, the sliders help fine-tune the level and tonal balance to fit into the arrangement. Live, the On/Off footswitch and readable controls facilitate quick changes. Placed at the beginning of the chain, it responds particularly well to guitar volume variations and touch, becoming a true extension of your dynamics.

Features and control: the essentials, with real options

The Fundamental Fuzz relies on a classic trio of controls. The Gain sets the saturation level and fuzz density: at low settings, you get a more granular and airy texture, while increasing it thickens the sound, compresses it, and adds sustain. The Tone adjusts brightness and frequency balance to shift from a dark, massive fuzz to a sharper sound capable of cutting through a band. The Volume adapts the output level, essential for balancing the effect with your clean tone or slightly pushing an amp's input.

The mode selector offers three complementary personalities: Gate for more choppy and nervous textures, with a sharper cutoff emphasizing a "glitchy" and percussive side; Classic for a fuller, more traditional, and singing fuzz; Mid+ to boost midrange presence, very useful when playing in a band and wanting to maintain definition on chords and leads.

Regarding integration, the top-mounted connections are ideal for tight pedalboards. Connection is straightforward via 6.35mm mono Jack inputs/outputs. Power is exclusively external: no battery option, which favors stable use with a suitable pedalboard power supply.

Sound

The Fundamental Fuzz delivers an expressive and harmonically rich fuzz with a real ability to change character depending on the selected mode. In Classic mode, you get generous, thick saturation with sustain that highlights bends and melodic lines. Gate mode offers a more "cut" behavior, ideal for nervous riffs, staccato parts, and more abrasive textures, while keeping a playful and inspiring vibe. Mid+ mode enhances clarity: the sound seems to "cut through" the mix more, helping preserve the impact of riffs and the presence of solos, especially in a full band setting.

The pedal responds very well to playing dynamics: slightly lowering the guitar volume yields a softer, less saturated tone, while a strong attack brings out texture and bite. It's an excellent choice if you're looking for a fuzz capable of shifting from a massive sound to a more articulated fuzz without multiplying settings or pedals.
