For 2024, the RockBass range has been revamped and confirms its mission: to offer instruments inspired by Warwick's iconic models, with a more accessible positioning. The codes of the German brand (ergonomics, finishes, sonic approach) are found in an instrument designed to cover a wide range, from acoustic playing to amplified performance, while maintaining a strong identity.
Who Is It For, and In Which Styles?
This 5-string electro-acoustic bass is aimed at intermediate to advanced bassists who want an instrument capable of delivering in acoustic rehearsals, studio sessions, or on stage via DI/amp. The 5th string naturally opens the door to modern styles (current pop, gospel, RnB, metal, urban music), while remaining very comfortable for accompanying folk, variety, or jazz when seeking a more "woody" and organic attack.
The Sound
The solid spruce top provides a quick response, clarity, and great definition in the attack, while the laminated spruce body ensures good stability and consistent behavior over time. The mahogany neck contributes a warm and rounded foundation, complemented by the wenge fingerboard, appreciated for its firm feel and grain that helps maintain focus in the midrange.
On the amplification side, the Shadow system combines a piezo (precision, attack, "wood" tone) and a nanomagnetic pickup (body, balance, and a more "electric" feel). The Volume / Balance / Tone controls for each source allow quick mixing adjustments: piezo alone for a very articulated acoustic sound, nanomagnetic for added density, or a blend of both for a full and usable live sound.
