This RockBass is aimed at intermediate to advanced bassists who want a reliable, responsive, and versatile 5-string without compromising ergonomics. The active electronics and "J" style format make it very comfortable for funk (snappy slap), rock (present low-mids), metal (tight low B string), or modern pop. It's also an excellent choice for those who alternate fingerstyle and pick playing, thanks to a clear attack and good note definition.
Sound
The combination of a alder body and active MEC J pickups provides a balanced foundation: firm lows, usable mids, and great clarity in the highs. Alder offers a consistent response and quick attack, while the wenge fingerboard enhances the sense of definition and "bite" in articulation. The two Jazz Bass-style pickups, driven by RockBass active electronics, allow switching from a tight and percussive sound (bridge pickup) to a rounder foundation (neck pickup), with simple and effective EQ controls to immediately adjust brightness and the breadth of the low spectrum.
