RockBass 2024: the accessible series that embraces Warwick's codes

With RockBass, Warwick offers its classics in a more affordable approach without compromising what makes the German brand renowned: meticulous finishes, "pro"-style playing feel, and a strong sonic identity. The range is revamped for 2024 and retains the spirit of the "big models": a bass designed to handle the stage, studio, and long sessions while remaining accessible.

For which bassists and styles?

This 5-string RockBass is aimed at intermediate to advanced bassists seeking a responsive and versatile 5-string, but it is also quite welcoming for a motivated beginner looking for a durable instrument. Thanks to its electronic configuration and range of adjustments, it adapts equally well to modern grooves (funk, pop, gospel) as to denser contexts (rock, metal) where the 5th string provides a solid low-end foundation.

The sound

The combination of a laminated maple body and a glued neck promotes a clear response, with good definition and controlled sustain: ideal for keeping the lows clear, even in standard 5-string tuning. The wenge fingerboard generally delivers a sharper attack and precise articulation, highly appreciated when playing with a pick or slap technique. On the amplification side, the MEC vintage single-coil passive pickups provide a clear and dynamic tone, while the active RockBass electronics add punch and presence to shift from a discreet mix to a more assertive sound. The Volume / Volume / Tone / Tone controls and the 3-position pickup split switch allow quick sculpting of the character, from rounder to more incisive.

Recommended compatible accessories

To maintain exactly the same feel, opt for a 5-string long scale string set with a gauge of .045-.135 (like the original set). For connection to an amp or interface, a 6.35 mm instrument jack cable is perfectly suitable.
