A Redesigned 2024 RockBass, in the Lineage of Classic Warwick Models
The RockBass range has been revamped for 2024 with a clear ambition: to offer instruments inspired by Warwick's iconic models while retaining the musical attributes and design that have built the reputation of the German brand. This 5-string bass fits within this "classic and efficient" philosophy, with manufacturing designed to provide an excellent balance of feel and performance without compromising Warwick's identity.
For Which Bassists and Styles?
With its 5 strings and 24 frets, this RockBass is particularly aimed at intermediate to advanced bassists who want to cover a wide spectrum: modern rock, metal, funk, pop, gospel, fusion, or any situation where the B string provides solid lows and more comfortable positions. It is also suitable for a motivated beginner who wants a directly evolutive instrument, provided they are comfortable with a wider neck.
The Sound
The pair of passive vintage MEC humbuckers emphasizes a dense sound, with substance in the low-mids and a clean attack, ideal for remaining clear in a mix. The active RockBass electronics add responsiveness and dynamics while keeping controls simple (Volume / Volume / Tone) to quickly shape the character of each pickup. The Carolina pine body promotes a warm and resonant response, while the wenge fingerboard enhances definition and precision. The 34" scale length helps maintain good note sustain and firm lows, especially appreciated on the 5th string.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To stay as close as possible to the original feel and balance, a set of Warwick Red Strings .045-.135 (same gauge) is a safe choice for replacement. The bass comes with a Student Line RockBag RB 20515 B/PLUS gig bag for daily transport and protection.
