The sound

The Carolina pine body provides a lively response, with a sharp attack and good projection, while the maple/ekanga neck combination enhances stability and precision in the low spectrum (a real plus on a 5-string). The wenge fingerboard adds grain and definition, appreciated for maintaining articulation on the low B string. The vintage passive MEC humbuckers deliver a full, dense, and quiet sound (natural noise reduction thanks to the double-coil format), and the active RockBass electronics provide headroom and a sharper attack to cut through a busy mix. The long scale length helps maintain tight lows and consistent sustain across the neck.
