Dorrough Modeling: Precision and "Useful" Reading

Developed in close collaboration with Dorrough Electronics, the plugin models the patented Dorrough ballistic process, the result of years of research in audio measurement. You get an ultra-fast peak measurement while maintaining a visual behavior close to the analog instruments used as standards in studios and broadcasting. This approach helps make more consistent decisions on gain staging, bus balance, and overall level.

3 Loudness Meter Models and Adaptable Displays

Waves Dorrough Stereo includes modeling of the 3 most popular Dorrough loudness meters and offers both mono and stereo versions. To integrate into your session, you can choose between 3 sizes and 3 display styles, convenient for switching from detailed control on the master to a compact reading on tracks or subgroups.

Overs Monitoring and Peak Management

An "Overs" indicator lights up when more than 3 samples exceed 0 dBFS, to quickly spot critical overloads. Three peak behaviors are available: hold 3 seconds, hold indefinitely, or peak reset. You can adapt the reading to the context: instant control during mixing, or strict verification during a final print.

Advanced Stereo Control: Sum/Diff and Phase

Beyond level, Dorrough Stereo becomes a diagnostic tool for the stereo image. The Sum/Diff mode allows detection of energy loss when the signal is summed to mono, helping secure broadcast (TV, mobile, club, mono speakers). Three measurement modes are offered: Left/Right, Sum/Difference, and Phase, to check left/right balance, M/S coherence, and potential correlation issues.
