What Waves eMo Q4 Equalizer Is For
Waves eMo Q4 Equalizer is a 4-band equalizer optimized for live sound reinforcement: quick correction of emerging feedback, cleaning up a vocal, shaping a guitar, controlling an overly bright overhead, or balancing a stereo bus on stage. Its approach prioritizes responsiveness and simplicity: everything is accessible on a single screen, speeding up decisions when every second counts. Thanks to its transparency and stability, it also fits very well in production or post-production when a clear, effective EQ without overload is needed.
Main Features
4 flexible bands tailored to stage needs
eMo Q4 offers a 4-band architecture with configurable responses for each filter: parametric, low-shelf, or high-shelf. This flexibility allows both surgical correction (resonance, nasality, harshness) and adding a more musical touch (bass foundation, presence, air) while maintaining precise control.
Extreme bands with filtering options and resonant shelves
The low and high bands go beyond simple shelving: the high band can operate as a resonant high shelf or a lowpass, while the low band can operate as a resonant low shelf or a highpass. On stage, this helps quickly clean up the low end (rumble, stage noise, proximity effect) or control excess highs without losing musicality.
Intelligent stereo control
The plug-in can be configured as two independent mono EQs (useful for processing two different sources) or linked for coherent stereo processing. You can simultaneously view the responses of the left and right channels, which facilitates adjustments on stereo sources (keyboards, ambience tracks, playback, buses).
Ultra-fast editing and touch interface
Designed to avoid menus, eMo Q4 allows editing by dragging directly in the display, via dedicated controls, or by numeric value input. Each band can be individually activated or bypassed to instantly compare before and after. Multi-touch compatibility enhances efficiency on touchscreens, especially in a live console context.
Performance: zero latency and low load
On stage, stability is paramount. eMo Q4 is designed with a zero latency and CPU-friendly approach to stay responsive in dense live mixes and minimize impact on the host machine.

Questions frequently asked
Does Waves eMo Q4 have latency in live use?
The processing is designed to be latency-free and have a low CPU load, to remain responsive in dense live mixing.
What filters are available on the 4 EQ bands?
The four bands can be configured as parametric, low-shelf, or high-shelf. The bass band can also operate as a highpass filter, while the treble band can become a lowpass filter.
Can the left and right channels be processed separately?
The setup offers two independent mono EQs or a coupling for stereo processing. The curves for the left and right channels remain simultaneously visible. This mode facilitates adjustment of stereo sources and buses.
Which formats and systems are compatible?
On macOS, VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats are supported, with macOS Catalina 10.15 up to Sonoma 14 specified. On Windows, the announced formats are VST2, VST3, and AAX.
Is the equalizer usable on a touchscreen?
The interface supports multi-touch and allows direct modification of the bands via drag-and-drop. Each band can also be individually enabled or bypassed.
