What is the eMotion LV1 Live Mixer for?
Waves eMotion LV1 is a live mixing software designed for front of house, broadcast, houses of worship, events, and streaming, anywhere high-end audio quality and configuration flexibility are required. Its "modular console" approach allows you to adapt your system for touring or fixed installation: you build your rig around your compatible audio interface, network infrastructure, and input/output needs.
Thanks to Waves processing integration, LV1 is suitable both for demanding mixes (vocals upfront, controlled dynamics, intelligibility) and modern productions (punch, density, creative effects), with an environment that prioritizes speed of execution and precision in real situations.
Main Features
High-precision mixing engine
At the heart of LV1 is a 32-bit floating point double precision mixing engine, designed to provide wide dynamic range, excellent transparency, and the essential headroom for live use. The software supports sampling rates from 44.1 to 96 kHz, enabling integration into various setups, from clubs to recording stages.
Waves processing and "studio to stage" workflow
LV1 is based on a simple philosophy: bringing the power of studio tools to the stage. Integration with Waves plugins opens access to a palette of processors to sculpt vocals, control bass, stabilize guitars, thicken a drum bus, or manage the overall dynamics of a streaming mix. The ability to host up to 8 SoundGrid-compatible plugins per channel allows stacking complete chains (virtual preamp, EQ, dynamics, de-esser, saturation, limiter) while maintaining a coherent workflow.
Live problem-solving tools
On stage, technology serves the continuity of the show. LV1 focuses on typical situations: feedback management, microphone bleed control, dynamic EQ, multi-mic auto-mix, de-essing, vocal and bass gain riding, and other processors designed to keep the mix stable when the stage moves. The goal is to save time, limit emergency fixes, and secure intelligibility, especially on vocals.
eMo plugins: channel strip optimized for live
Waves eMo plugins (EQ, filters, dynamics) are designed as a channel strip foundation tailored for the stage: fast interface, transparent sound, and operation announced as zero latency. Ideal for building a coherent and responsive console, with settings accessible at a glance, even in low light or stressful situations.
Touch control, physical controllers, and customization
Mixing can be done with optimized multi-touch response and complemented with up to 2 Waves FIT controllers to regain the feel of a control surface: 32+2 motorized faders, multifunction encoders, layer switching, assignable buttons, tap tempo, and automatically mapped plugin parameters. LV1 also allows creating custom layers to organize your session according to your logic (groups, VCAs, monitors, main vocals), speeding up critical operations.
Offline preparation and scalable systems
LV1 can be integrated into a compact setup for pre-show preparation, then expanded on site with more inputs/outputs, servers, and interfaces. It is also possible to prepare session parameters without audio via a dedicated editor, convenient for programming patches, bus structures, layers, and basic settings from a laptop.
Network, multi-systems, and remote control
For larger productions, multiple LV1 mixers can be connected to the same network switch to share resources (I/O, sources, monitors) and send signals to multiple destinations simultaneously, without splits and with independent gains according to engineers' needs. For mobility, dedicated apps enable remote control: MixMirror to control and mirror the mixer screen on iPad, MyFOH to manage levels/pans/sends remotely, and MyMon to allow up to 10 musicians to control their monitor mixes via mobile devices.
