Developed with Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Jack Joseph Puig, JJP Vocals favors a sensation-based logic rather than a list of separate effects. The interface relies on 5 main sliders - Magic, Space, Attack, Attitude, and Presence - to quickly transform the character of a take and achieve a more stable, present, and expressive voice.

This approach is ideal for speeding up mixing decisions: you adjust the intensity of each "intention" instead of tweaking multiple modules one by one. Result: time saved and easier sonic consistency to maintain, especially when working on several tracks or episodes in a row.

Parallel processing under the hood: thickness and impact without heaviness

The plugin is based on 5 parallel processors that layer over the vocal track. These chains combine treatments such as complex compression, voice-optimized equalization, delay, and other effects to add substance and stability while maintaining a natural feel. The advantage of parallel processing is to enhance the voice without crushing it: you get more perceived density while preserving the attack and dynamics essential to the performance.

Controls designed for diction and presence

The Presence slider helps emphasize articulation and clarity, particularly useful when the voice gets lost in a busy arrangement or when diction must remain intelligible in podcast/spoken word contexts. For rap vocals, Attack strengthens consonants and word onsets to gain rhythmic precision and intelligibility without over-processing the highs.

Attitude targets authority and power: handy for thickening a voice that lacks body or for establishing a more upfront energy. Finally, Magic subtly highlights the signature of a voice, like a discreet spotlight on character, useful for "finishing" a lead vocal without making it sound artificial.

Space and ambiance: quick and musical slapback

With Space, you add a slapback-style ambiance, perfect for giving depth and dimension without drowning the voice in a long reverb. It's an effective solution when you want the voice to stay upfront while gaining a "studio" dimension and livelier stereo placement.

If you want to go further, JJP Vocals allows you to fine-tune useful everyday parameters: de-esser to tame sibilance, low and high EQ to adjust bass and air, as well as compression settings.
