Waves Maserati ACG is a multi-FX plugin designed to process and highlight an acoustic guitar in music production. It caters both to rhythm guitar takes (strumming, pop/rock rhythms, marked attacks) and more expressive parts (arpeggios, picking, delicate accompaniment). The goal is simple: to achieve an acoustic sound that is more present, more clear, and more lively, capable of holding its place among drums, piano, synths, or vocals, without spending hours stacking multiple plugins.

Two chains "ACG1" and "ACG2" depending on the role in the track

ACG1 is designed to maximize level and sculpt the overall balance, particularly useful on rhythm guitars that need to drive the groove and stay stable. ACG2 incorporates more compression to reveal the subtleties of a performance, ideal for more dynamic playing, pick nuances, or a live take where you want better control over variations.

Presence and energy: Punch and Excite

The PUNCH control helps the guitar cut through busy arrangements by enhancing impact and attack sensation. The EXCITE module adds brightness and highlights playing details, notably the strums and string texture, to achieve a livelier high end without over-EQing.

Targeted equalization for acoustic guitar

The Mid and Hi settings are calibrated for the frequency areas that matter most on an acoustic: intelligibility, attack definition, sense of air and clarity. This allows you to go straight to the point to place the guitar correctly in the mix, without making the sound harsh or too thin.

Built-in ambiance: reverb with pre-delay

The integrated reverb features a pre-delay, useful for preserving attack clarity while adding a sense of space. You can thus switch from a close and intimate acoustic sound to a wider, enveloping guitar, maintaining simple and musical control. "Room" type settings are available to adjust the ambiance according to the context.

Fast workflow: presets and insert or send usage

With 42 presets covering multiple styles, the plugin facilitates an immediate start, whether for quick sketching or finalizing a mix. Additionally, separate modes allow using Maserati ACG as an insert (direct processing on the track) or as a send (auxiliary effect), convenient for sharing a common ambiance among several guitars or sources.
