Waves PRS SuperModels is a guitar amp simulation suite designed to record, compose, and produce credible guitar sounds without a physical amp. It targets both home studio guitarists and producers who want a quick guitar chain to integrate into a DAW, offering sounds ranging from articulate clean tones to modern high-gain, including crunch and vintage overdrive. In practice, it is an ideal tool for virtual re-amping, quick demos, final takes, and headphone setups while maintaining a playing feel close to a real amp.

Main Features

Three PRS amps, three complementary personalities

The pack brings together three models designed in collaboration with Paul Reed Smith to cover a wide musical palette. The PRS Archon stands out for its versatility: a clear and defined Clean channel, then a Lead channel capable of switching to high gain for heavier styles. The PRS Dallas targets rock and blues-inspired textures, with a natural progression from light drive to more pronounced crunch, complemented by a spring reverb with a typically "American amp" character. Finally, the PRS Blue Sierra V9 offers a three-stage overdrive (preamp, gain, output) with a thick and warm grain, focused lows, and silky highs, in a boutique and rare spirit.

A simulation that follows your playing

One of the strengths of PRS SuperModels is the feel under the fingers: attack, dynamics, and playing variations (light picking, strong attacks, tapping) are translated musically. The goal is to recover the compression, response, and typical "push" of a tube amp, so the sound is not only beautiful in the mix but also inspiring during tracking.

Cab section and IR: the difference is often made here

The speaker cabinet section is designed as a real sound sculpting space. You can mix two cabs, choose from 8 included impulse responses or load third-party IRs, then fine-tune the setup with coherence tools (Smart Mix, Phase Fix, Time Fix). Add to that panning, mix settings, and speaker excursion control to adjust the sensation of "push" and movement, resulting in a more coherent, denser, and easier-to-place sound in a production.

Accelerated creativity: presets, Auto-Gain, and integrated tools

To work quickly, the software includes artist presets ready to record, an Auto-Gain that adapts the input level to your guitar, a tuner to stay in tune with one click, and a noise gate to control hiss in high-gain settings. The "air" function adds a sense of space that helps regain the comfort of an amp in a room, particularly useful for headphones or direct input.

Studio, live, and MIDI control

Whether you work inside a DAW or outside, PRS SuperModels operates as a plugin or via a standalone application. The full MIDI implementation facilitates use with foot controllers to change sounds, activate a boost, manage settings, or control your virtual rig during playing situations.
