Waves V-Comp is an analog-style software compressor designed to recapture the "console/outboard" feel of vintage productions: density, grain, and compression that feels musical rather than clinical. It is suitable for enhancing vocals (adding presence and stability), reinforcing bass, drum buses, or for mix cohesion on the master bus. Even without significant gain reduction, it can serve as a harmonic coloration tool to thicken a track and help it cut through the mix.

Inspired by a legendary bus processor, V-Comp emphasizes punch and density. Increasing the input level yields more pronounced compression and saturation, with a tactile feel that works especially well on rhythmic sources and buses (drums, instruments, mix bus). The choice between Auto or fixed release allows adapting the signal's breathing to tempo and style.
Analog Color and Modeled Transformers
