It is aimed at producers and composers who want a solid foundation for modern Metal, from heavy groove to fast parts, with precise kicks, sharp snare, and biting cymbals. Ideal for home studios as well as professional production to program, double, or replace an acoustic drum kit with a coherent and energetic result.
Main Features
A complete and versatile Metal kit
At the heart of this expansion is a Custom Ludwig Classic Maple Kit with 18 pieces, capable of covering "any style of Metal." The maple toms provide thunderous depth, the Ludwig bass drum delivers heavy impact, while incisive Zildjian cymbals enhance pattern definition. The Gretsch snare, described as hammered metal, aims for a clear balance between attack, body, and presence.
The Ross Robinson sound, designed for current production
Everything was selected and tuned by Ross Robinson for the sessions, with a philosophy focused on efficiency and character. Recording in his "The Grotto" room, with stone walls, contributes to a rawer sonic signature, with a room feel that adds dimension without diluting the attack.
"Trig" samples to reinforce kick and snare
To meet the demands of modern Metal, the pack includes "Trig" samples (more attack, less sustain), designed for the Xtra slot. This is the ideal tool to "double" a bass drum or snare, accentuate punch, improve clarity in a dense mix, and achieve a firmer low end without sacrificing speed.
