Life by XLN Audio is a creative beatmaking plugin designed to convert everyday moments into rhythmic material: a street noise, a voice, a hand clap, or any sample becomes the foundation of a beat. Ideal for hip-hop, electronic, pop production, sound design, and music for visuals, Life speeds up idea generation by creating credible patterns, then letting you take control to sculpt a unique groove in your DAW.

Capture, Import, Sync
Record sounds with the Life mobile app and instantly sync them into Life within your session. You can also record directly in the plugin or start from an existing recording to feed your starter kit. The result: a fast bridge between reality and creation, without breaking the production flow.
Smart slicing and slice creation
Life analyzes the sonic qualities of your audio, then transforms it into beat slices ready to be replayed. From these slices, the plugin reconstructs entirely new beats, leveraging the source's character (textures, attacks, transients) to maintain an organic identity.
Generate, audition, refine
Hit "Randomize" and audition endless variations until you find the happy accident that sparks a track. The Sound Variation and Pattern Variation parameters allow you to evolve the tone and rhythmic writing without starting over, while the Density, Syncopation, and Symmetry controls help calibrate the energy, swing, and balance of the pattern.
Advanced editing: precision and control
When the idea is there, push the detail: adjust the Slice Points, tweak the FX, and use the sequencers to lock in a pro beat, ready to be integrated into your arrangement. Life is designed to move from quick exploration to fine editing without unnecessary complexity.
