Essential Information About the Yamaha Pacifica GPA112VMRM Red Metallic Guitar

  • Maple fingerboard: crisp attack, excellent responsiveness, and immediate playing feel, perfect for both rhythm and lead parts.

  • Versatile pickup configuration: 2 single-coils + 1 Alnico V humbucker to cover bright cleans to thick saturations.

  • Coil tap function (push-pull): quickly switch from humbucker to single-coil to expand your tonal palette without changing guitars.

  • Vintage "Block Saddle" vibrato: playing comfort and stability, with rich sustain and deep tone.

A Pacifica Reference Designed for Modern Versatility

The Yamaha Pacifica 112VM follows the tradition of versatile electric guitars that have made the Pacifica series renowned: obvious ergonomics, accessible handling, and electronics oriented as a "Swiss army knife." In this Red Metallic version, it retains the spirit of the bestseller, featuring a maple fingerboard that emphasizes precision and dynamics, both on stage and in the studio.

For Which Guitarists and Styles?

The Pacifica GPA112VMRM is aimed at beginner to intermediate guitarists seeking a serious and evolving instrument, as well as experienced musicians looking for a practical and efficient guitar. Thanks to the HSS configuration (humbucker + 2 singles) and the 5-position selector switch, it handles pop, rock, funk, blues, and even heavier styles via the bridge pickup. The coil tap function facilitates switching from a round and powerful sound to a sharper, more cutting tone, ideal for switching styles live.

The Sound

The combination of an alder body and maple neck/fingerboard offers a very versatile balance: controlled lows, clear mids, and bright highs with a fast attack. The Alnico V pickups provide a well-projected clean sound in strumming and a precise response that remains defined in the mix. The bridge humbucker delivers a solid foundation for overdriven tones, while the coil tap allows for a more "single-coil" character for cutting rhythms. The bridge pickup mounted on a ring directly on the body contributes to better resonance capture and a more expressive dynamic. Finally, the vintage Block Saddle tremolo supports a rich sustain and appreciable tonal depth.
