Pacifica Professional: the "do-it-all" spirit elevated to studio level

Since its inception, the Pacifica has established itself as a reliable, musical electric guitar capable of covering a wide range. The PACP12 sits at the pinnacle of this philosophy: carefully selected components, Japanese manufacturing, and performance-oriented technical choices, all while preserving the Pacifica DNA (balance, ergonomics, and versatility) within the lineup.

For whom and for which styles?

This Yamaha targets intermediate to professional guitarists seeking a responsive, precise electric guitar comfortable in varied contexts. It excels in funk, pop, indie, blues, modern rock, and fusion: the single coils provide attack and definition for rhythm parts, while the humbucker delivers the impact, sustain, and authority needed for leads and heavy riffs.

The sound

The alder body, optimized by Yamaha Acoustic Design, aims for a balanced output: firm lows, present mids, and clear highs, with a consistent response across the entire neck. The HSS configuration paired with Reflectone pickups enhances versatility: the HH7b bridge humbucker offers density, output level, and a pleasant natural compression when overdriven, while the HS7n pickups (middle and neck) favor precise, dynamic cleans rich in nuance. The push-pull (humbucker coil-split) multiplies tonal textures, and the wood/neck combination (maple) + fingerboard (rosewood) balances attack, warmth, and articulation. The Gotoh 2-point tremolo and I.R.A. treatment contribute to a resonant feel and controlled sustain, particularly appreciated in expressive playing.

Recommended compatible accessories

To maintain the original setup spirit, a set of 09-42 nickel-plated steel strings is a coherent choice. A strap with standard attachments will fit, as well as an A-frame or wall mount stand with a non-marking coating to preserve the finish. For stage and studio use, a quality 6.35 mm jack cable is recommended.
