Essential Information About the Yamaha TransAcoustic TAG1E / TAS1E Natural Guitar

  • Built-in Effects: reverb and chorus directly accessible from the guitar, no amp or pedals needed.

  • Two Formats to Choose From: Dreadnought (TAG1E) for generous projection, Concert (TAS1E) for more comfort and balance.

  • Inspiring Luthiery: solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides for a warm and lively acoustic sound.

  • Playability Geared Toward Modern Playing: 44 mm / 1 3/4" nut width and 650 mm / 25 9/16" scale length, ideal for accompaniment as well as fingerstyle.

The 2nd Generation TransAcoustic: The Yamaha "All-in-One" Experience

The Yamaha TAG1E and TAS1E models complete the second generation of TransAcoustic guitars, designed to offer a "studio" feel from the very first minutes of playing. The concept is simple: the guitar features integrated acoustic effects (reverb and chorus) controllable via simplified controls, plus the option to use a mobile editor to fine-tune your experience. This approach is ideal for exploring new sonic atmospheres at home or during rehearsals without additional gear.

Who Is the Yamaha TAG1E / TAS1E For?

These TransAcoustic guitars are especially suited for beginner to intermediate guitarists seeking an immediately inspiring instrument, as well as more experienced musicians looking for an expressive acoustic to enrich their accompaniment. The Dreadnought format (TAG1E) highlights pick playing, pop/rock, and powerful strumming, while the Concert format (TAS1E) is well suited for fingerpicking, more nuanced arrangements, and long sessions thanks to its more compact body.

A Warm Acoustic Sound Signature, Enhanced by Reverb and Chorus

The solid spruce top delivers attack, precision, and dynamics: it responds finely to right-hand variations, from light playing to stronger strums. The mahogany back and sides enhance warmth and roundness, with present mids that help the guitar naturally "sit" in a voice/guitar mix. The walnut fingerboard and ebony bridge contribute to a clear and stable response, pleasant for both open chords and arpeggios.

The TransAcoustic advantage lies in the "space" dimension added by the built-in effects: the reverb adds breadth and depth, while the chorus thickens the sound and provides a more enveloping texture. The result: an acoustic guitar that sounds wider and more immersive without relying on an amp, interface, or pedals.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To complement your instrument easily, you can add a clip-on tuner (compatible with all acoustic guitars), some picks suited to your attack, a guitar stand for safe storage, and a microfiber cloth for maintenance. A semi-hard case is included, convenient for daily transport and protection.
