The TRBX305 fits Yamaha's approach: a modern, reliable, and efficient bass designed to cover a wide sonic range without unnecessary complexity. The presets and volume/balance controls make it easy to access sounds adapted to many genres: rock, pop, funk, metal, gospel, variety, or contemporary music requiring a solid and clear low end.

The sound

The mahogany body provides a generally warm character, with present low-mids and a sense of density in the bass. The 5-piece maple/mahogany neck promotes stability and contributes to a more defined attack, while the rosewood fingerboard slightly rounds the high end for a comfortable feel and balanced response. On the electronics side, the 2 Yamaha HB humbuckers deliver a solid signal with good headroom, and the balance control allows precise blending of each pickup. The 5 presets are designed to quickly shape the tonal imprint (attack, warmth, presence) and instantly adapt to fingerstyle, pick, or slap playing.

Recommended compatible accessories

To fully exploit this bass with its 34" / 864 mm scale length, a long scale bass string set is recommended. A standard strap and a 6.35 mm jack cable ideally complete the gear for rehearsals and stage use.
