Yamaha YTR-3335

Essential Information About the Yamaha YTR-3335 Trumpet

• Immediate response and playing comfort thanks to the reverse leadpipe, rare on a student trumpet.

• More stable and centered sound with a brace on the main tuning slide, limiting sound dispersion.

• Projection and robustness via Monel alloy pistons and slightly heavier valve buttons/caps.

• Ease for beginners: 2-piece lightweight yellow brass bell and design tailored for learning.

A Yamaha Student Trumpet Inspired by Professional Manufacturing Methods

With the YTR-3335, Yamaha brings to the student trumpet world design choices usually reserved for higher-end models. The tuning slides (main and half-step) are made using a method employed on professional models to offer smooth action and better stability. The result: a school instrument that emphasizes consistency, reliability, and reassuring handling, while helping the student build a bright and controlled sound.

For Which Musician and Styles?

The Yamaha YTR-3335 is primarily aimed at beginners and students in conservatories, music schools, or brass bands seeking an easy-to-play and consistent Bb trumpet. Its flexible response and intonation stability make it an excellent choice for classical, brass band, pop, and early jazz playing, with an instrument that forgives and supports progression.

Sound and Design

The YTR-3335 targets simple sound production and a "free" playing feel: the reverse leadpipe promotes a soft response, particularly useful for establishing the embouchure and airflow. The 2-piece lightweight yellow brass bell contributes to a clear and bright tone while remaining accessible in terms of effort. Adding a brace on the main tuning slide reinforces the assembly and helps achieve a more centered sound with better precision. Mechanically, the Monel pistons are designed to last, with stable and consistent action, essential for a student trumpet used intensively.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

This trumpet comes with a TR11B4 mouthpiece and a TRC-201EII02 case. A good complement includes valve lubricant and slide grease to maintain smoothness and airtightness, as well as a trumpet cleaning swab to preserve tuning and response over time.
