Historical Context and Positioning Within the Range
Reproducing the immediately recognizable character of A Zildjian cymbals is not simple, as their sonic imprint has become a benchmark. The A Custom series stands as a modern and essential alternative: it captures the "Avedis" spirit while adding a brilliant finish and a more contemporary voicing. Designed with the assistance of iconic drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, the A Custom cymbals position themselves as the sophisticated expression of the original sound, featuring sharper definition and a more "studio-friendly" presence.
Who This Drum/Instrument Is For
The Zildjian A Custom cymbals are aimed at intermediate to professional drummers seeking a responsive cymbal that is easy to place in a mix and capable of covering a wide dynamic range. Their tonal balance and clarity make them particularly suitable for pop, funk, fusion, modern rock, R'n'B, variety genres, and both live and studio contexts. If you play with finesse, ghost notes, and stick nuances, you will appreciate their immediate response; if you increase intensity, they maintain projection without becoming aggressive.
