An Extension Designed to Complement the Zoom H8
Specifically designed for the Zoom H8, the EXH-8 capsule integrates as a true expansion module to increase input capacity without changing your workflow. It addresses situations where you quickly switch from a light setup to a more ambitious session: sets with multiple speakers, ambient multi-mic capture, or group recording with more sources to manage.
Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?
The Zoom EXH-8 is aimed at creators who need multiple XLR microphone inputs while maintaining a mobile setup: roundtable podcasters, video sound recordists, journalists, documentary teams, or musicians wanting to multiply takes. It's also an excellent option if you work with dynamic microphones and want quick and reliable level adjustment directly at each channel.
Key Features: More Inputs, More Control, More Flexibility
Four Additional XLR Inputs with Dedicated Controls
Each added XLR input features its own gain control and attenuation switch, making it easy to adapt to very different levels (close voice, ambience, instruments, various speakers). The status button per channel provides clearer monitoring of your setup and helps maintain efficiency during sessions, even as the number of sources increases.
Phantom Power +48V via External Power Supply
To use microphones requiring phantom power, the EXH-8 can supply +48V provided an external power supply is used (micro USB, 5V DC). This approach allows you to keep a mobile setup while remaining compatible with your condenser microphones in light studio or field recording environments.
