A modern looper designed for stress-free layering
The MS-90LP+ fits into a very current approach to looping: quickly capturing an idea, evolving it in successive layers, then controlling it live with clear commands. Its 32-bit floating-point processing emphasizes cleanliness and level stability, a real advantage when stacking guitars, basses, or synth textures without having to monitor gain on every pass.
Its compact format makes integration on a pedalboard easy while maintaining performance-oriented ergonomics: you record, layer, undo a layer, stop instantly, add a loop effect or a rhythm without breaking the flow of playing.
Who is the MS-90LP+ for, and in what contexts does it make a difference?
This looper is aimed both at beginner musicians who want to work on timing and harmonies, and at experienced guitarists or bassists building arrangements live. In the home studio, it becomes an ultra-efficient idea notebook for laying down structures, bridges, or backing tracks. On stage, it shines in solo or duo projects, as well as in sets where stereo phrases and atmospheres are triggered between songs.
Regarding styles, it is particularly comfortable in pop, rock, blues, funk, indie, and anything related to ambient and cinematic worlds thanks to the loop effects. The stereo inputs/outputs also make it very relevant for synthesizers, keyboards, grooveboxes, and samplers.
Controls, modes, and connectivity: a compact but very complete looper
The interface combines an LCD screen and 4 analog-feel potentiometers to quickly navigate memories and settings. The screen displays the waveform of your loop in real time and changes color depending on the state (recording, playback, or using a loop effect), which greatly secures live transitions.
To keep your creations perfectly locked, the MS-90LP+ includes 68 rhythmic patterns and offers loop synchronization with the rhythm, with quantization to fall cleanly on the beat. A LOOP FX mode provides 8 dedicated loop effects to instantly transform the material (for example, Reverse, Half Speed, or Tape Stop effects depending on the chosen setting), perfect for moving from a verse to a break without adding other pedals.
The connectivity follows the same "ready for anything" logic: USB-C for importing/exporting your loops and ideas, and MIDI via 3.5mm mini-jack to change memory from an external device and synchronize tempo. Finally, thanks to the output sharing function, you can send the loop to the left to your amp and the rhythm to the right to the PA, a real asset for a cleaner mix on stage.
Sound
The MS-90LP+ signature is a clear and stable reproduction, with a comfortable headroom feel that encourages layering: chords, counter-melodies, bass lines, percussion on microphones... everything remains readable. Stereo adds breadth to textures and enhances the impact of arrangements, while loop effects bring an immediate creative dimension to "twist" a phrase, create transitions, or set a more experimental atmosphere.
Note: references to famous users of this model may evolve over time, but the sonic and functional approach of the MS-90LP+ clearly places it in the category of modern loopers designed as much for creation as for performance.

Questions frequently asked
What recording time does the Zoom MS-90LP+ offer?
Each loop can last up to 90 minutes, with a total storage capacity of 13 hours. The 32-bit floating point processing and 44.1 kHz sampling rate are specified for loop recording.
Does the looper support guitar, bass, or stereo synthesizer input?
The stereo inputs and outputs accommodate guitar, bass, synthesizer, keyboard, groovebox, or sampler. Stereo is suitable for capturing textures and phrases with panoramic width.
Can loops be synchronized with a drum machine?
The 68 built-in rhythm patterns can be synced with loops, featuring quantization to align triggers on the beat. The foot-accessible directional pad provides access to the RHYTHM function. MIDI via 3.5mm mini-jack also allows tempo synchronization with an external device.
What loop effects are available?
The LOOP FX mode includes 8 dedicated effects, notably Reverse, Half Speed, and Tape Stop, depending on the selected setting.
How to export loops and separate rhythm and loop during a performance?
The USB-C connection is used to import and export loops. The output sharing function can send the loop to the left channel and the rhythm to the right channel, allowing routing to separate destinations.
