ADAM Audio’s flagship open-back headphones
With the H715 Reference, ADAM Audio brings its studio monitoring standards to a premium open-back headphone. Its goal: to deliver balanced reproduction, extended bass and very low distortion to support production decisions. The strengthened collaboration with Sonnox extends this approach by combining acoustic design with dedicated software tools.
For mixing decisions and demanding listening
This mixing and mastering headphone is aimed at sound engineers, producers and musicians who want to examine the balance, dynamics and stereo image of their projects. Its open-back design is particularly well suited to quiet environments: it prioritizes openness of sound over the isolation required for recording vocals in front of a microphone.
Its 150-ohm impedance makes it ideal for connection to a suitable headphone output. Whether in the studio or at home, it also lends itself to attentive music listening, particularly with a premium amplifier compatible with its balanced connection.
Acoustic and software design for precise monitoring
Transducers designed for transparency
The titanium-coated PEN diaphragms work with powerful neodymium magnets, a precisely tuned suspension and a patent-pending ventilation system. The angled transducers are positioned behind a permeable woven steel mesh. A dense acoustic material surrounds their output to attenuate unwanted resonance peaks.
Headphone Utility and ListenHub: going beyond listening
Developed with Sonnox, Headphone Utility offers settings tailored to ADAM Audio headphones and an adjustable crossfeed for a better headphone assessment of mixes intended for speakers. ListenHub adds a virtual monitoring environment: comparison with tracks from streaming platforms, level matching, metering, mono checking, side channels and balance.
On macOS, Headphone Utility can run directly within ListenHub. Calibration then applies system-wide, independently of the audio source being used.
A Hi-Fi mode for balanced amplification
The 3 m Hi-Fi cable connects the two earcups to a five-pin 4.4 mm Pentaconn output. The recessed button in the left earcup, accessible with the supplied metal rod, separates the common ground for use with a compatible differential amplifier. Pressing it again restores the common ground and allows you to resume using the single-input studio cable.
Comfort and replaceable parts
The spring-steel headband provides a secure fit, while its central cutout reduces pressure on the top of the head. The memory-foam earpads, available in soft fabric and faux leather, attach magnetically. Machined aluminum supports, detachable cables and interchangeable padding complete a modular design intended for long sessions and long-term maintenance.
