The WMS 420 Series: An AKG Solution Designed for Field and Installation Use

The WMS 420 range was developed to meet the needs of users who alternate between mobile performances and fixed installations: theaters, places of worship, events, conferences, presentations, etc. The principle is simple and effective: an SR420 receiver paired with a transmitter (here the HT420 handheld) to achieve flexible UHF transmission, with the possibility to manage multiple radio links within the same frequency band (up to 8 compatible channels per band). In this configuration, you benefit from a complete, coherent, and scalable system adapted to everyday constraints.

For Whom and For What Uses? Singing, Speech, Hosting, Stage

This pack is especially suitable if you are looking for a wireless handheld microphone ready to perform in demanding contexts: live singing, dynamic speaking, hosting, rehearsals, small to medium-sized stages, or installations where a robust and easy-to-use microphone is desired. The supercardioid directivity of the D5 capsule helps maintain a present and intelligible voice while limiting the pickup of unwanted side sounds, a real advantage when the stage is noisy or when stage monitors are close.

Reliable Transmission and a D5 Capsule Tailored for Live Use

SR420 Receiver: Stability and Continuity Thanks to Antenna Diversity

The SR420 relies on an FM architecture with antenna diversity: the system uses the most favorable reception to limit dropouts and improve perceived reliability under real conditions. Another important advantage: its detachable antennas open the door to more professional configurations, such as the use of accessories dedicated to multi-channel systems (antenna splitters, directional antennas), which facilitates integration when multiplying RF links on the same site.

HT420 Handheld Transmitter + D5 Capsule: Presence, Feedback Control, and Handling Comfort

The handheld transmitter HT420 features the renowned D5 supercardioid dynamic capsule. It is known for its high gain before feedback, low sensitivity to handling noise, and a stage-typical sound reproduction designed to help the voice stand out naturally in the mix. For a singer, host, or speaker, this translates into a more usable, stable sound capture that is easier to place in the sound system.

Multi-Channel: A Flexible Approach to Managing Multiple Simultaneous Links

The WMS 420 systems are designed to operate in multi-channel mode when required, with up to 8 compatible frequencies per band. This is a concrete asset for small technical teams, service providers, and equipped venues seeking to standardize a wireless microphone fleet and maintain a clear deployment logic (receivers, antennas, accessories, and identical procedures).

Charging Contacts and Battery Indicator: Smoother Operation

In intensive use, battery life and power monitoring become essential. The HT420 features a low battery indicator to anticipate replacements, and the transmitters in the series include charging contacts when used with compatible rechargeable batteries. This approach can reduce operating costs and simplify logistics, especially in fixed installations where reliable routines (charging, rotation, monitoring) are prioritized.
