A High-End Overdrive Born from WGS Expertise

The Slamurai fits into Allpedal's "boutique" approach: a brand stemming from Warehouse Guitar Speakers (WGS), a renowned American manufacturer in the guitar and bass speaker world. This lineage is reflected in the product philosophy: manufacturing excellence, careful attention to sound quality (dynamics, harmonics, playing feel), and refined finishes. The result: an overdrive pedal designed to reproduce a natural amp saturation, with an organic grain and a wide range of controls to cover multiple uses, from simple boost to more contemporary drive.

Who Is It For? Guitarists Seeking an Expressive Overdrive, Both in Studio and Live

The Allpedal Slamurai is aimed both at musicians looking for a first "premium" overdrive and experienced guitarists wanting a responsive pedal that's easy to integrate into a professional pedalboard. Thanks to its high touch sensitivity, it is perfectly suited for styles where playing with guitar volume and pick attack is key: blues, rock, pop, country, as well as more modern genres seeking a precise and articulated drive. In live situations, its 3-band EQ helps quickly adapt to an unfamiliar backline; in studio, it becomes an excellent gain layer to stack with a boost, distortion, or another overdrive while maintaining definition.

Controls and Design: A Complete Drive, Easy to Use

The Slamurai goes straight to the point: a Drive control to adjust gain and a Level to set output volume, complemented by a 3-band EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble) designed to adjust density, presence, and brightness in the highs. This architecture makes it very easy to adapt to opposite setups: single-coils (needing body, mids, a bit of push) as well as humbuckers (needing clarity, low-end hold, and a more controlled high spectrum). The stage-format footswitch ensures reliable activation, and the true bypass guarantees a direct signal path when the effect is off. The top-mounted jacks facilitate integration on a compact pedalboard.

Sound

The Slamurai stands out with a very lively character: it reacts strongly to the right hand and respects playing nuances, like a preamp stage that "breathes." At low gain, you get a nervous clean boost that thickens without choking; increasing the Drive adds grain and harmonics, with a rich texture that remains clear for chords. The 3-band EQ allows switching from a rather transparent overdrive (letting the guitar and amp speak) to a more marked coloration, ideal for highlighting a lead or thickening a rhythm part. This is typically the kind of pedal that gives the feeling of having "more amp" under your fingers, rather than just an effect layered on top of the sound.
