A "chameleon" overdrive at the heart of the Kernom range

The RIDGE was designed as an all-in-one overdrive: instead of stacking multiple pedals with different characters, you continuously shift from one saturation style to another. The idea is not to coldly copy circuits, but to rediscover their broad families of sensations: clear and dynamic boost, transparent overdrive, mid hump like vintage drive, more compressed sustain, then rougher edges close to fuzz.

For whom and in which styles?

The Kernom RIDGE is aimed both at guitarists who want to simplify their pedalboard and studio musicians seeking a wide palette of textures without compromising feel. Blues, rock, funk, indie, modern metal, ambient: its mid control and dual pre/post saturation tone controls help maintain clarity, whether in rhythm or lead. It also works very well with bass, keyboards, and synths when you want to add warmth, attack, and harmonics without losing definition.

Controls, presets, and integration (live, studio, MIDI)

The DRIVE and VOLUME knobs set the foundation: from a slight edge-of-breakup to denser saturation, with comfortable headroom to push an amp or preamp input. The core of the concept remains MOOD, which evolves the clipping texture and compression. Then, the EQ becomes a true musical tool: PRE TONE changes how the circuit "handles" your signal, while MID and POST TONE finalize placement and brightness. For live use, the footswitch allows access to an internal preset, and the MIDI connectivity opens access to 128 presets as well as parameter control. Add an expression pedal to morph in real time between two settings or control volume.

The sound

The RIDGE delivers a warm, detailed, and very dynamic saturation: pick attack, fingerstyle, and instrument volume remain clear, with a response ranging from a "glassy" clean boost to thicker compression reminiscent of pushed tubes. Its character can stay relatively transparent or, conversely, take on a more pronounced bite depending on the MOOD and the PRE TONE / POST TONE pair. The result: an overdrive that adapts to your amp, pickups, and attack, rather than the other way around.
