The Sound

The solid European spruce soundboard provides a quick response, clear attack, and excellent dynamics, very useful for articulating solo lines as well as "pushing" the accompaniment. The rosewood back and sides enhance the depth of the lows, brightness of the highs, and sustain, while giving a sense of a full sound. The small "O" soundhole promotes a more focused and percussive output, with a Manouche-typical projection and a well-present midrange.
