The Laureate Series: Vintage Aesthetics at the Pinnacle of Alvarez Craftsmanship
Designed as the brand's most high-end and refined range, the Laureate series revisits the spirit of early 20th-century acoustic guitars through traditional craftsmanship. Alvarez combines demanding lutherie choices with a modern approach to projection, resulting in instruments with a vintage-inspired look but dynamic and decidedly contemporary performance.
Who Is It For, and Which Styles?
The LP70e targets intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a characterful Parlor guitar, equally comfortable at home, in the studio, or on stage. Its compact format favors fingerstyle, blues, folk, delicate accompaniments, and expressive lead parts, while maintaining clear articulation in both standard tuning and open tunings.
Sound Characteristics
The AAAA solid Sitka spruce top delivers attack, clarity, and great harmonic finesse, with a lively response at both low and high dynamics. The solid Indian rosewood back and sides enhance bass depth and spectral breadth while adding a beautiful brightness in the upper register. The naturally focused Parlor format emphasizes precise projection and excellent note-to-note balance, ideal for nuances and fingerstyle playing. The FS6 bracing contributes to rich projection and quick response, while the LR Baggs HiFi electronics aim for a natural acoustic tone reproduction when amplified.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To preserve the original feel and balance, you can stick with the factory-installed strings: D'Addario XSAPB1253. The included AFC30 case is perfect for daily transport and protection.
