The Edge Strip is designed to reproduce a wide range of vintage microphones, preamps, equalizers, and compressors. It consists of the renowned Antelope Audio Edge modeling microphone - a large-diaphragm dual-capsule condenser microphone specially designed to replicate the expressiveness and character of costly classic microphones.
It also includes the Discrete MP, a fully analog two-channel microphone preamplifier, with the typical crystal-clear sound of Antelope Audio.
Edge Strip users benefit from a set of free plugins including a compressor designed by Antelope Audio founder Igor Levin, the Stay Levin.
Analog Design with Discrete Components
The Edge Strip offers a natural analog sound combined with the advantages of precise digital control.
The Discrete MP features two combined XLR+TRS inputs, as well as two TRS outputs. The discrete analog circuits of the Discrete MP provide up to 61 dB of maximum gain and full control over coloration, clarity, and character of the preamps.
Additionally, the USB connection provides an easy way to remotely control the Edge Strip comfortably from your computer.
Each Edge modeling microphone is equipped with a special dual-sided capsule whose diaphragms are gold-coated with a thickness of 3 microns. This allows us to perform multidimensional modeling and emulate a variety of microphones, polar patterns, and even control the proximity effect.

Antelope Audio's engineering team designed the Discrete MP to perfectly complement the Edge modeling microphone.
The Discrete MP and the Edge modeling microphone are fully analog, meaning they will work with any system. Thanks to its dedicated calibration oscillator, the Discrete MP easily adapts to all studio setups, even those where precise gain matching between two channels is not possible. When connecting to a new system, simply activate the built-in oscillator to calibrate the Discrete MP for perfect gain adjustment.

Use the Discrete MP to capture the color of your favorite microphone with crystal-clear detail. Or pair the Edge modeling microphone with your preferred preamp to create unique sounds.

Can the Discrete MP be used as a USB audio interface?
The USB 2.0 Type B connection is only intended for remote control from a computer. The two analog channels connect via combo XLR/TRS inputs and TRS outputs.
What preamp gain is available?
Each channel offers adjustable gain from 0 to 61 dB in 1 dB steps. A 6 dBu at 1 kHz calibration oscillator allows precise level adjustment between channels and the rest of the studio. Phantom power 48 V is available for the supplied condenser microphone.
Which plugins are included with the Edge Strip?
The package includes 4 microphone emulations, 3 German preamp emulations, the Stay-Levin compressor, and a vintage EQ. These native AFX effects require Internet activation and an iLok authorization key, which is not included.
Does the Edge microphone allow changing polar patterns?
