Aquarian SKP22BK - SUPERKICK 22" + REGULATOR 22"

Historical Context and Positioning Within the Range

The Regulator fits within Aquarian's approach to heads with integrated overtone control, featuring a floating muffling system also found on the Super-Kick batter heads. It is designed as a modern resonant head, oriented towards contemporary music styles, to quickly achieve a clean and usable sound both live and in the studio.

Target Audience for This Drum/Instrument

Ideal for beginner to advanced drummers seeking an immediate, clear, and impactful bass drum sound. It is particularly suited for pop, rock, and metal genres, as well as any setup requiring controlled low end and solid projection.

Features and Innovations

This Regulator head combines a single-ply construction with the Floating Muffling System : a felt ring that reduces unwanted overtones for a more precise response. The offset vent of 4 3/4 inches facilitates bass drum ventilation and internal mic placement while maintaining punch.

Sound Characteristics

The floating muffler tightens the low spectrum and limits unwanted resonances: resulting in a full low end, a more defined attack, and a more focused feel. The sound remains deep with controlled sustain, helping the bass drum sit better in a dense mix. The head is also touted as very durable, especially when used with Aquarian patches.
