A Speech Capture Solution from the ADX Range, Designed for Installation

The ADX gooseneck microphones are designed to meet the typical constraints of speech environments: intelligibility, visual discretion, and precise positioning close to the source. The range is available in cardioid or hypercardioid polar patterns to adapt the capture to the context (distance to the mouth, room acoustics, presence of monitors, ambient noise level). The ADX12 fits this logic with a "ready to integrate" approach thanks to its integrated preamplification circuit at the base of the XLR.

Who the ADX12 is For and Where It Makes a Difference

The ADX12 is a conference microphone particularly suitable for lecterns, conference tables, boardrooms, places of worship, auditoriums, amphitheaters, and training spaces. Its gooseneck design allows fine adjustment of orientation and distance, helping to maintain a consistent level and clear diction even when the speaker slightly turns their head. In teleconferencing or speech reinforcement, this precise positioning helps reduce the temptation to "turn up the gain," thereby limiting the risk of feedback and instability.

Directivity, Integration, and Positioning: Key Points of the ADX12 Gooseneck Microphone

Cardioid Directivity: Cleaner Voice Capture

With its cardioid directivity, the ADX12 favors capturing what is in front of the capsule while attenuating some sounds from the sides and rear. This is an effective choice for lectern speech and meetings when the goal is to improve clarity without excessively isolating the speaker. This directivity also facilitates the overall system balance, especially in reverberant rooms where preserving intelligibility is important.

Integrated Preamplification at the XLR Base: Simplified Setup

The ADX12 integrates a preamplification circuit at the base of the XLR connector. This architecture promotes a cleaner installation, with simple chaining to the console, audio interface, or sound system. In fixed installations, this detail is valuable: it results in a discreet, coherent, and easy-to-maintain setup while retaining standard XLR cabling practices.

Mounting and Compatibility: Permanent Fixation or Microphone Stand

To adapt to field constraints, the microphone can be permanently mounted via the supplied mounting bracket or paired with an optional base (for example, models equipped with an internal shock mount). It can also be used on a standard microphone stand with a DCLIP-type mount. This flexibility facilitates switching from a "conference room" configuration to a more mobile setup (itinerant conference, temporary lectern, event).

Phantom Power 18 to 52 V: Standard Audio Integration

The ADX12 operates with phantom power from 18 to 52 V. This is essential in audiovisual and conference sound reinforcement: you can power it directly from many microphone preamps, mixing consoles, stage boxes, or interfaces. For optimal results, simply activate phantom power on the relevant input and carefully position the gooseneck to maximize voice presence.
