The "Classic" Touch from Avantone, Culminating the C Series

Designed as the workhorse of the range, the Avantone CK-6 concludes the "C series" with a simple philosophy: to offer a versatile and reliable large-diaphragm studio microphone without a strongly marked signature. Here, we find a "Classic" approach focused on precision and musicality, featuring FET electronics and a transformerless condenser circuit to preserve clarity and dynamics.

The CK-6 Classic Plus version stands out with a slightly larger diaphragm than the standard version: 32 mm instead of 30 mm. This choice aims to provide extra density in the low end and a more flattering proximity effect while keeping smooth and airy highs. It's a coherent evolution for home studios and production studios seeking a main microphone capable of covering many situations without surprises.

A Studio Microphone Designed for Vocals, Acoustics, and Close Miking

Thanks to its sensitivity and cardioid pattern, the CK-6 Classic Plus is suited as much for vocal recordings (singing, spoken voice, dubbing) as for acoustic instruments (guitar, strings, light percussion). Its detailed response helps capture articulation and attack, while its solid low end delivers a "finished" sound that integrates easily into a mix.

It also performs well on more powerful sources. On a guitar amplifier, a bright snare, or brass instruments, the microphone can handle high levels and maintain a clear image, provided the placement is appropriate. It is a relevant choice if you are looking for a large diaphragm capable of bridging precise capture and studio character without requiring a complex signal chain.

Key Features: Low-End Control, SPL Management, and a "Clean" Sound

80 Hz High-Pass Filter: Controlled Low-End from the Start

The switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter is particularly useful for cleaning handling noise, microphone stand vibrations, or room rumble. On close vocals, it also helps reduce proximity effect and achieve a more controlled foundation even before processing. This is a clear time saver during mixing, especially in home studio environments.

-10 dB Pad: Extra Headroom for Very Loud Sources

The -10 dB attenuator pad prevents input stage overload when the source is very loud or placed very close to the microphone. Practically, this secures your recordings on guitar cabinets, percussive instruments, or brass while preserving usable dynamics. Combined with proper gain staging on your audio interface, you get a cleaner and more stable signal.

Transformerless FET: Precision, Transients, and Low Coloration

With its transformerless circuit and transparency-oriented design, the CK-6 Classic Plus aims for a "colorless" reproduction and faithful detail rendering. This results in full mids, present lows, and airy highs without unnecessary harshness. The microphone is therefore well suited to modern processing (compression, equalization, light saturation) because the raw capture remains clear and structured.

Plus Pack: Serious Protection and Suspension for Cleaner Recordings

Beyond the 32 mm diaphragm, the Plus package focuses on comprehensive protection: aluminum case, wooden box, and elastic suspension. The suspension helps reduce vibrations transmitted through the mic stand, effectively complementing the high-pass filter. For regular use (transport, sessions, storage), the set inspires confidence and safeguards your investment over the long term.
