A “Global” Bacchus: the Bacchus spirit, made in Indonesia
The Bacchus Global BSH-850/RSM is part of the Global series, a range designed to offer a modern, reliable and consistent guitar while remaining accessible. Made in Indonesia, it focuses on practical technical choices (roasted maple, locking tuners, SSH configuration and coil tap) to deliver a true “Swiss Army knife” guitar for rehearsing, recording and performing on stage, all in a sleek and effective Black finishing.
Who is it for, and which styles?
With its TYPE S shape, familiar feel and highly flexible electronics, this BSH-850/RSM is particularly suited to serious beginners to intermediate players who want to cover a wide range of styles with a single guitar, as well as more experienced musicians looking for a practical instrument for live performances. The S-S-H configuration is perfectly at home in pop, blues, funk, rock and hard rock: you get defined clean tones in the single-coil positions, then greater density and output from the bridge humbucker.
A modern character: clarity, responsiveness and a wide tonal palette thanks to the coil tap
The roasted maple neck/key combination provides a fast response and precise attack: you often get a clearer high end, well-controlled lows and a “clean” playing feel, which is useful for both rhythm parts and lead lines. The nyatoh body complements this balance with pronounced mids and a warm foundation, helping retain thickness when you play harder or switch to overdriven tones.
On the electronics side, the Original S-S-H set combined with the 5-way selector makes it easy to move between brightness, the characteristic scooped tones of the “in-between positions” and fuller sounds. The key feature for a guitar of this type is the coil tap: by pulling up the control (push/pull), the bridge humbucker can deliver a brighter, sharper tone, useful for rhythms that need to stand out in a mix, or for achieving a more “single-coil” character without changing guitars. Everything is controlled by a complete control layout: 1 volume and 2 tone controls, ideal for quickly fine-tuning the sound according to the amp, pedals and playing style.
Recommended compatible accessories
As this guitar comes factory-fitted with D'Addario 010-046 strings, you can keep a spare set in the same 010-046 gauge to preserve the feel and tremolo balance. For connecting to an amp or pedalboard, a good-quality 6.35 mm jack cable is also a safe choice for an electric guitar.
