  • Instant versatility: 2 humbuckers, 3-position selector switch, and coil tap to switch from thick, heavy tones to clearer, sharper attacks.

Japan Tune-up: A Modern Approach to the TACTICS in the Bacchus Range

With the Japan Tune-up series, Bacchus offers guitars with a bold style, focused on "performance," featuring particularly up-to-date specifications: 24 frets, stainless steel frets, coil tap, and craftsmanship that embraces both aesthetics and efficiency. This JT TACTICS24-BP/M fits this philosophy by combining a reassuring and familiar LP silhouette with playing and reliability details clearly designed for stage and studio use, while remaining accessible thanks to manufacturing in Indonesia.

An Electric Guitar Designed for Versatile Guitarists (Intermediate to Advanced Level)

Thanks to its 24 frets and 25.5" / 648 mm scale length, this Bacchus is especially suited for guitarists who want an instrument capable of covering a wide repertoire without being limited to "vintage crunch." The upper fretboard positions, clear arpeggios, modern riffs, and wide-interval solos come naturally, with easy access to the high notes thanks to its modern playing-oriented design. Stylistically, it excels in rock, pop, fusion, hard rock, and metal, while also delivering a finer, snappier sound via the coil tap when you seek more airy tones.

The choice of locking tuners and a Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut provides real peace of mind: tuning holds better, pitch returns after vibrato effects are more reliable, and daily maintenance is easier. Add to that stainless steel frets: the feel remains precise longer, and wear resistance is a major advantage if you play frequently.

A Balanced Sonic Signature: Clear Attack, Sustained Lows, and Character Options

The poplar burl top first adds a striking visual dimension but also contributes to a rather lively response with a defined attack feel. The walnut body is often appreciated for a present midrange and clear lows: ideal for retaining substance on saturated rhythms without the low end becoming muddy. Finally, the maple neck + maple fingerboard duo enhances attack and clarity, helping to bring out pick playing, palm mutes, and articulated lines.

On the electronics side, the Original Humbucker pickups deliver a full sound with sustain and good saturation response. Controls are simple and effective: 1 volume, 1 tone, and a 3-position pickup selector to switch between neck pickup, combination, and bridge pickup. The coil tap clearly expands the tonal palette: you get a lighter, more open response, useful for snappier cleans, funky chicken picking, or double guitar parts in the studio when you want contrast with a denser humbucker sound.

The Wilkinson WVS50IIK bridge completes the setup with an expressive playing feel: whether you use it for subtle vibratos or simply to benefit from right-hand comfort and positioning, it integrates well into a guitar designed for versatility. The open-pore satin finish also contributes to the "direct" resonance feel: under the fingers, the guitar feels alive, and the left hand glides easily along the neck.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To stay as close as possible to the original feel, plan on a set of electric strings gauge .010-.046, identical to the factory-installed set (Elixir NANOWEB Light .010-.046). This gauge is an excellent compromise: flexible enough for bends and expressive playing while maintaining enough tension for rhythm parts. A microfiber cloth is also a great daily companion, especially with a satin finish where you appreciate keeping a clean and consistent touch.
