Vincent Bach: the demand of a musician-engineer turned benchmark

The history of Bach mouthpieces begins with Vincent Bach, an experienced musician who, as early as 1918, sought to manufacture high-quality mouthpieces after a bad touring experience. His background, reinforced by his role leading a bugle school during the war, led him to design reliable and consistent models. The brand then established itself with trumpets (from 1924) and trombones (from 1928), to the point of being associated with excellence and tradition. Passed on to Conn-Selmer, the manufacturing has preserved this philosophy: offering Bach mouthpieces recognized for their consistency and sound quality.

For which musician and styles?

Thanks to its ease of blowing and its announced bright tonal character, this Bach mouthpiece suits both progressing musicians and experienced players seeking immediate playability. It can fit into many contexts: wind orchestra, brass band, variety music, and more broadly any repertoire where presence and projection are desired. The very wide rim is particularly suitable for players with thick and full lips or those accustomed to applying more pressure, aiming to maintain a comfortable and stable support sensation.

Sound and design

Designed around a medium cup, this mouthpiece promotes an effective compromise: smooth emission, good endurance, and a timbre that remains open without becoming too demanding. The 15.75 mm cup diameter contributes to the overall balance between stamina and sound richness, while the very wide rim stabilizes placement and can help some musicians manage pressure and fatigue during long sessions. Advertised as very easy to blow, it aims for a quick response and a full and bright output. The silver-plated finish completes the package with a pleasant mouthfeel and comfortable contact.

Recommended compatible accessories

To preserve the finish and hygiene, the use of a mouthpiece swab and an appropriate cleaning product is recommended. For transport, a dedicated mouthpiece case limits shocks and prevents scratches.
