An "hybrid" approach designed for sound and performance
This drum machine is based on a simple philosophy: combining the character of an 8/12-bit sampling engine with true analog color in the processing stage to achieve drum sounds that are sharp, dense, and organic. Its performance-oriented architecture (pads, automation, Pattern and Song modes) naturally places it at the heart of a modern setup, equally comfortable in production and live settings.Who it's for, and which styles this drum machine excels in
The Classic Hybrid Drum Machine is aimed at experienced musicians and producers who want an immediate drum machine but deep enough to build complete tracks. It excels in electro, techno, house, hip-hop, synthwave, EBM, and rhythmic ambient genres, thanks to its 8/12-bit grain, sample rate variations, and sequencer tailored for polymeters. In the studio, its 8 independent analog outputs facilitate multitrack recording and external processing (compressors, EQ, saturation). On stage, mute/solo functions, Auto Scroll, and quick editing (tempo, swing, probability, flam, random) encourage improvisation and smooth transitions.

Questions frequently asked
What type of sound does the Behringer BMX offer?
The engine combines 8/12-bit PCM sampling with variable sampling rate and analog processing. The dual-mode analog filter and the Wave Designer are assignable per voice.
Can one record their own samples in this drum machine?
The line input in minijack format allows recording and storing samples within the machine.
Does the sequencer allow polymeters and live variations?
The real-time sequencer reaches 64 steps and includes a Step Editor. The poly-meter, step-repeat, note-repeat, track-mute, and track-solo functions enable modifying rhythms during playback. The dedicated encoder adjusts tempo, swing, probability, flam, and random.
How many audio outputs are available for multitrack recording?
The architecture includes 8 voices with independent level and pan. The description indicates 8 independent analog outputs for processing or recording voices separately. The listed connectivity also includes two jack outputs and a headphone output.
How to sync the BMX with a MIDI or USB setup?
The MIDI DIN In, Out, and Thru ports, as well as USB to Host, ensure integration with an external system. Synchronization is available via USB, MIDI, Clock, or internal clock.
