A Modern Tribute to the OB-Xa Legend
The Behringer UB-Xa continues the sonic philosophy of the OB-Xa by adding contemporary features designed for stage and studio. Bi-timbral, equipped with dedicated controls and an immediate workflow, it captures the DNA of legendary brass and pads while offering modern stability and flexibility (split/layer, sequencer, MPE).Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?
Ideal for seasoned keyboardists as well as producers seeking an ambitious first analog polyphonic synth, the UB-Xa excels in synthwave, new wave, pop, disco/funk, techno, ambient, and film scoring. In the studio, its stereo per voice and bi-timbrality enrich arrangements; live, its expressive keyboard and front-panel controls encourage improvisation and quick editing.Technical specifications

Just by the weight you feel that this keyboard is well built and will last over time.. I like the touch and the softness of the keyboard, neither too hard nor too soft. Just like the Poly D and the Deepmind 12 by the way. In terms of sounds, even if all the presets are not the same, creating your own sounds is remarkably easy, this synthesizer is as intuitive as can be, everything I like on a keyboard... Thanks Behringer!

Questions frequently asked
Is the Behringer UB-Xa polyphonic and bi-timbral?
It has a polyphony of 16 voices and its bi-timbral architecture allows for split or layered configurations. Two layers can thus be distributed across the keyboard or stacked.
What type of keyboard and expressiveness does it offer?
The keyboard features 61 full-size velocity-sensitive keys. MPE compatibility and aftertouch usable in the modulation matrix extend the possibilities for expressive playing.
What oscillators and filter does the UB-Xa have?
Each voice combines two 3340 VCOs offering sawtooth, triangle, and pulse waveforms with variable pulse width and sync. The filtering is based on an analog 3320 VCF, low-pass with selectable 12 or 24 dB slope and adjustable resonance. A stereo VCA per voice allows precise positioning of voices and layers in the stereo field.
Does the synthesizer include effects, an arpeggiator, and a sequencer?
No onboard effects are present in the audio path. However, an arpeggiator and a dual-layer sequencer with real-time transposition are integrated.
What MIDI and CV connections are available?
The integration includes full MIDI with NRPN, CC, and bulk data save/load. CV and pedal inputs, as well as fully servo-balanced outputs, are also provided.
