The spirit of Moog’s great modular systems in an accessible format

The Moog Grandmother captures the warm, immediate character of the brand’s historic modular synthesizers in a modern, compact and particularly intuitive design. Its colorful panel clearly separates each function, making it easy to understand the signal flow while naturally encouraging experimentation.

Unlike a modular system that must be fully patched before producing the slightest sound, this semi-modular synthesizer is ready to play as soon as it is switched on. The internal connections provide a complete and coherent architecture, while the patch points allow you to divert, enrich or replace these routings. The Grandmother thus occupies a space between a traditional analog synthesizer and a genuine gateway into the modular world.

An expressive analog synthesizer for playing, live performance and sound creation

The Grandmother is equally suited to musicians discovering analog synthesis and experienced sound designers looking for an inspiring instrument. Its hands-on controls avoid complex menus: every setting is immediately visible and audible, encouraging an instinctive approach to sound.

It excels at rounded, punchy basses, expressive leads, sequenced arpeggios, psychedelic effects and evolving textures. It integrates naturally into electro, techno, house, ambient, synthwave, pop, funk and film music productions. In the studio, it brings the lively character of analog sound ; on stage, its full-size keyboard, adjustable glide and dedicated controllers encourage spontaneous, expressive playing.

Thanks to its comprehensive MIDI connectivity, USB MIDI and numerous control inputs and outputs, the Moog Grandmother can become the heart of a hybrid setup combining a drum machine, external sequencer, computer and Eurorack modules.
