The Dedicated Controller to Fully Exploit the ID:CORE High Power
The Blackstar FS-12 was designed as the natural extension of the ID:CORE 100 and ID:CORE 150: where the amplifier offers a wide palette of sounds and effects, the FS-12 provides immediate foot access. The result: you navigate your presets, activate/deactivate effects, and control key functions without letting go of the neck, with ergonomics tailored for real playing conditions (rehearsal, studio, stage).
Its "low profile" format avoids the "pedal sticking out" effect on a pedalboard while offering switches spaced enough to remain precise, even with stage shoes. It's the kind of accessory that transforms a modeling amp into a true live rig: everything is underfoot, exactly when needed.
Who Is the FS-12 For, and In What Contexts Does It Make a Difference?
The FS-12 is aimed at guitarists using an ID:CORE 100/150 as their main platform who want reliable and fast control over their sounds. Whether you're an ambitious beginner, a band musician, or a home studio regular, the benefit is immediate: fewer manipulations on the amp panel, more fluidity in playing.
In rock, pop, blues, modern metal, or even ambient music, the interest is the same: chain changes (clean + reverb, crunch + delay, lead with noise gate) while staying focused on timing and dynamics. In rehearsal, it's also an ally for clean work: the tuner becomes readable at a glance, and tap tempo control helps precisely lock modulation and delay effects to the song's tempo.
Controls, Operating Modes, and Expansion: The Blackstar Approach
The FS-12 provides access to all amplifier patches (up to 36), and its dot matrix display shows essential information to avoid any confusion live. The core of the system relies on two configurable function switches : you assign them according to your playing style to have the truly useful commands underfoot during your set.
Depending on your setup, these two switches can be used to activate/deactivate modulation, delay, and reverb effects, manage tap tempo (modulation and delay), control the looper, toggle the effects loop on/off, engage "Super Wide Stereo" mode (particularly appreciated on stereo setups), or activate/deactivate the noise gate for tight rhythms and clean breaks.
Finally, the FS-12 includes a dedicated extension jack : you can connect a 2-button FS-13 footswitch to add two additional programmable controls. The entire setup is configured via the Blackstar INSIDER software, allowing you to optimize the controller for your repertoire (stage functions, patch organization, switching logic, etc.).
Sound
The FS-12 is not an effect that colors the sound: it is a controller that lets you access, by foot, the sounds and processing already present in the ID:CORE. Its "impact" on tone is therefore practical: cleaner transitions between patches, better-timed tap tempo, noise gate triggered at the right moment, and smoother looper management. In short, you achieve a more professional output, not by changing your tone, but by mastering your rig with precision.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Blackstar FS-12 compatible with the ID:CORE 100 and 150?
The controller is compatible only with Blackstar ID:CORE 100 and ID:CORE 150 amplifiers.
How many patches can be selected by foot?
Up to 36 amplifier patches are accessible from the pedalboard’s five switches.
Is a power supply or cable required to connect the FS-12?
The 9 V DC power is provided by the amplifier via the 6.35 mm jack connection, with a consumption of 150 mA. The 6.35 mm jack cable required for connection is not included. No separate power adapter is specified.
Can tap tempo, looper, or effects be assigned?
Two assignable switches can control tap tempo, looper, modulation, delay, or reverb. The effects loop, noise gate, and Super Wide Stereo mode can also be assigned via Blackstar INSIDER.
Can an FS-13 footswitch be added to the FS-12?
Its aluminum chassis includes an EXT socket in 6.35 mm jack format for the FS-13, allowing two additional programmable controls.
